SAVE THE DATE: CVSD K-12 STEAM Expo. Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at CV Middle School
    Our CVSD is excited to extend an invitation to our community to attend our our 2nd annual STEAM Expo.  The Expo will be held on March 22 from 5:00-7:30 at the CV Middle School.  This year's event has expanded to also include local trade schools, the BCCTC, and local businesses presenting along side of our students to help expose our kids and community to the many different post-high school paths and career opportunities available.      If there are any local trades, businesses, STEAM related careers, etc that would like to participate along side of our students in this year's expo, please see the attached documents and send to Mr. Brian Dolph and Mr. Bill Fiedler at bdolph@centralvalleysd.net and wfiedler@centralvalleysd.net      A very special thank you to the Beaver County Educational Trust and our Central Valley Education Foundation for financial grants and support in putting on this event.  
Central Valley Staff Attends SWPBIS Coaches' Day
   
On January 25th, CVMS School Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Coaches (pictured left to right: Christina Feragotti, Bernadette Mattica, Chris Carrol, and BVIU consultant Kristen Salamone) presented at the regional Positive Behavior and Intervention Support Coaches's Day at PaTTAN Pittsburgh. The presentation reported on the successful implementation of the middle school's Brave Warrior Program which pairs 8th grade students with 6th grade teachers and students to both mentor and support 6th graders in their transition to middle school. CVMS Coaches have also been asked to present on this successful program at the state-wide Positive Behavior and Intervention Support Conference in Hershey, PA.  
Central Valley Staff Participates in the Polar Plunge
    On January 27th, Central Valley teachers, administrators, and parents participated in the 6th annual Beaver County Polar Plunge. Team and community members raised nearly $12,000 for Special Olympics to win the Cool Schools Challenge for the 4th year in a row. The event raised $100,000 overall to support local Special Olympics programs and athletes. Congratulations to the CV community for once again showing their school spirit and support of our students and families with special needs!  
Tickets Now On Sale for "All Shook Up" Showing March 8th, 9th, and 10th
     All Shook Up is a hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy set in a small Midwestern town during the 1950s. As the name indicates, the town is "shaken up" when a mysterious, leather-jacketed biker arrives with his guitar. Drawing inspiration from a story written by Shakespeare and featuring a score comprised entirely of music from Elvis Presley, All Shook Up is sure to entertain.     Click here to purchase tickets  
2018-19 Kindergarten Pre-Registration

  
The Central Valley School District is interested in determining how many children will be enrolling in Kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year. Your child must be five years old BEFORE September 1, 2018. If you plan to enroll him or her in school this fall, please go to the district website at www.centralvalleysd.org to pre-register your child. Exact registration dates and times can be chosen by utilizing the website. Parents are encouraged to register through the website, if possible. By completing the attached form, registration times and dates will be assigned by the office. Families that have pre-registered will receive an invitation to the Central Valley School District Kindergarten Registration Parent Night scheduled for February 22, 2018 at 6:00 PM. Kindergarten Registration Parent Night will be held in the Center Grange Primary School gymnasium.  This is a very informational meeting. Please make every effort to attend.

The following topics will be discussed during Parent Night:

  • Our Kindergarten program
  • Kindergarten screening assessment
  • Mandatory medical and required school enrollment information
  • Bus transportation
  • Latch Key Program (professionally supervised before and after school program)
  • Extended Day Kindergarten Program

ATTENTION LOCAL BUSINESSES - Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program
 
The Education Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) enables companies who do business in Pennsylvania to support an authorized Education Improvement Organization (EIO) such as Central Valley Education Foundation.  Tax credits equal to 75 percent of its contribution up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year. Can be increased to 90 percent of the contribution, if business agrees to provide same amount for two consecutive tax years.  Consider supporting Central Valley School Districts "IPAD" Initiative through the EITC program unique to Pennsylvania businesses.
